How do I get one? Can I just make one myself?

Since these are official species, exact designs are recorded and have set owners: in short, just designing any companion will not automatically make it official to the group. You are free to create one-off companions to reference past-owned or miscellaneous pets or mounts, but any active and owned companions will need to be approved to be canon!

 

You can see all approved companions on their respective masterlists!

The most direct way to obtain a companion is to but them from either The Pet Pen or Lamiana Stables! These are the official pet and mount shops and are occasionally restocked with new companions to adopt!

 

 

Outside of that, raffles or DTA/WTAs may be held for companions from time to time! You could also trade with other members who may own one, or obtain a Musal/Felinander Collar or Jaowl/Shergan/Glittergon Saddle to order a custom / design your own!

All official companions not owned by a specific user belong to the group until given a different home.

If I have a baby companion, can I grow them up? / Can I breed my companions?

​

Not at the moment! Companion growing and breeding are planned features but are not yet completed. Any baby companions will have to stay as babies for the time being!

What does [trait] look like? Can I stylize it?

​

Please ask an admin for visual reference if you are confused about the appearance of a trait! Many should be self explanatory, but we will be happy to respond if you need help!

Stylizing traits is 100% allowed! As long as someone can look at it and tell what it is, it should be fine. Since there are much fewer traits for companions than ferroii for lytes, more freedom will be allowed with how traits present!

Can I add/remove/change the traits or design of my companion?

​

Not currently, but a feature to do this will be coming out very soon! The setup is mostly done for this, unlike growing up and breeding.

Is there a trait limit?

​

While different rarities have different trait restrictions, which can be viewed on their respective info pages, the absolute maximum is six! Only Unique or Exclusive companions can really reach this number anyway, but it is there.

Are there any universal traits?

​

Color and marking traits are included in any species! Having more than the set amount of secondary / accent colors or markings is always considered a Unique trait.

What are Exclusive traits?

​

Exclusive traits are very special traits that rarely show up on companions! They cannot be obtained normally and are usually one-off features. Official adopts will likely be the only place to see a companion with an Exclusive trait!

Do I have to give my companion a set Astrolyte owner?

​

Nope! In-canon owners are not regulated, but we do ask that you try to follow the lore of each companion when deciding an owner. Since shergan cannot canonically be found on islands aside from Aitsua and Lucerula, they should not be given owners that don't regularly inhabit those islands, or since glittergons only associate with those harboring good intentions, they shouldn't be owned by intentionally harmful lytes!

Does owning a companion do anything for my lyte?

​

Aside from opening doors for storytelling between your lytes, pets and mounts do not currently affect anything for your lyte function-wise! There are features planned in which they will provide bonuses, but they are not a priority in comparison to other companion features such as growing up, altering the designs of, or breeding.

I obtained a companion, but it doesn't follow [rule] of the species. Do I have to fix it?

​

We understand that many companions were re/designed before we were able to sit down and discuss the traits and color rules of each species. You do not have to change pre-existing designs with these mistakes, just be sure to follow them for future re/designs!

[Species] doesn't have a lot of traits. Will more be added?

​
