Transfer Guide

Have an old character lying around that you’d like to revive as an Astrolyte? Here’s the place to do it!

There are 4 separate transfer types, each with their own limitations! Each one is linked to a trinket marked by the color of transfer. These trinkets are what you can trade in to transfer a character over to Astrolytes!

Transfer Types

Yellow Trinket

Low Transfer

Transformation Trinket Yellow

The Yellow Transfer is the lowest option available for transferring characters in! They are very easy to get, and as a result, have the most limitations.

Limits

- Allows for a maximum of 5 ferroii to be added.

- All ferroii are allowed except for: Subspecies Ferroii, Event Ferroii, Special Ferroii, & Expired Ferroii.

- Can only be transferred in as a Standard lyte.

- Must be brought in as a Lavaling.

- Only MYO lavalamp placements may be used.

- A maximum of 3 secondary colors may be used.

Blue Trinket

Medium Transfer

Transformation Trinket Blue

The Blue Transfer is another option available for transferring characters in! They are a bit harder to obtain, but everybody joins the group with one automatically attached to their account.

Limits

- Allows for a maximum of 15 ferroii to be added.

- All ferroii are allowed except for: Subspecies Ferroii, Event Ferroii, Special Ferroii, & Expired Ferroii.

- Can only be transferred in as a Standard lyte.

- Can be brought in as a Lavaling or Astrolyte.

- Basic MYO lavalamp placements & small extensions of them may be used.

- A maximum of 5 secondary colors may be used.

Pink Trinket

High Transfer

Transformation Trinket Pink

The Pink Transfer is a much higher option available for transferring characters in! They are fairly difficult to get, but have fewer limitations to make up for it.

Limits

- Allows for an unlimited amount of ferroii to be applied.

- All ferroii are allowed except for: Special Ferroii & Expired Ferroii.

- Can be transferred in as a Standard lyte or Basic Subspecies lyte.

- Can be brought in as a Lavaling or Astrolyte.

- Basic MYO lavalamp placements & larger extensions of them may be used.

- Any amount of secondary colors may be used.

Grey Trinket

Max Transfer

Transformation Trinket Grey

The Grey Transfer is the highest option available for transferring characters in! They are extremely hard to get, but do have the least restrictions.

Limits

- Allows for an unlimited amount of ferroii to be applied.

- All ferroii are allowed except for: Expired Ferroii.

- Can be transferred in as a Standard lyte, Basic Subspecies Lyte, or Secondary Subspecies lyte.

- Can be brought in as a Lavaling or Astrolyte.

- Allows for an existing Astrolyte to be changed to any Subspecies.

- Any lavalamp placements are acceptable.

- Any amount of secondary colors may be used.

Preliminary Requirements

There are still a few things to do before your character can be transferred in!

Age Requirement

Your character must be at least 2 months old before transferring!

- This just means that at least 2 months needs to have passed since the first image of them in your possession was uploaded! You must provide a link or screenshot of proof.

- For Grey Transfers, they need to be at least 5 months old to account for the heightened rarity.

Art Requirement

There will need to be at least 6 refined images of the character before transferring!

- “Refined” means that messy doodles and sketches won’t count towards the requirement! They don’t all have to be scenes, but please try to have a group of fairly neat, fully colored images ready when transferring.

- Only images drawn by you count! Gift art / commissioned art / any other art that you yourself didn’t draw will not be accepted for this requirement!

- For Grey Transfers, they need to have at least 10 images to account for the heightened rarity.

Rules

There are a few rules that need to be followed when transferring characters into Astrolytes!

Only transfer in characters you own!

- A fairly obvious rule, but please do not try to transfer in a character you don’t currently have ownership of! This goes for media characters as well — do not attempt to directly transfer a game / movie / TV / etc. character!

- Regarding fan characters, as long as it’s clearly your own design only inspired by the media, then they should be alright! If it’s a direct knockoff of a canon character or design, though, it will not be accepted as is.

Transferring in characters from other species is a-okay!

- We’d prefer if you only transferred them into Astrolytes after removing them from their original group to avoid dealing with duplicates and ownership issues, but it’s up to you to decide how your character will be transferred!

- If they were purchased / won / etc. from their original group, please provide proof of ownership!

- Astrolytes that have been removed from the group on the owner’s accord can be transferred back in with this same process! The same rules apply. Lytes that were donated cannot be transferred back in as they still technically exist within the group.

Give proper credit!

- If you didn’t make the original design, give credit back to the designer! Chances are that the design didn’t change too wildly, so please don’t suddenly claim the entire design as yours.

Don’t make overly major changes during the transfer!

- Obviously minor color, marking, and trait alterations are alright [even necessary at times!], but please don’t add extra ferroii at random! If the old design didn’t have it, don’t add it to their new Astrolyte form!

- As an extension of this, all images must be of the current design you are transferring. Even if the character was previously a different evolving species, images where they do not have all of the traits you wish to transfer in will not be counted!

Only use existing ferroii!

- You cannot create new ferroii to add to your transferred lyte! [Feel free to suggest them to possibly be added in the future, though!]

Reason out your design choices appropriately!

- Less of a rule, but please be sure your reasoning makes sense for the ferroii you add! Having a character with a marking over fur will not be enough to justify Flexi-Glass, having a character with no distinct markings will not suffice for Pure Lava, etc. Especially these harder-to-obtain ferroii are allowed, but you may have to do some convincing if there isn't a clear reason for it!

Design Your Transfer

To transfer your character, you still need to actually design them in their new Astrolyte form!

There’s not too much more to mention that hasn’t already been said! Be sure to use correct Astrolyte anatomy, and any markings will still have to follow current ferroii. Colors that would normally not be accepted under MYO rules are acceptable, as long as the markings still follow them & there is the allowed amount of secondaries & 2 related lavalamp colors.

If you’re transferring an existing lyte into a Subspecies, their design should not change at all outside of the new Subspecies body! Lamp placements, markings, colors, etc. all stay the same. The same lavalamp placement rules apply [i.e. if your lyte has a forehead placement they cannot be transferred into a Draco without having it moved, etc etc].

Here’s a few example transfers for reference!

Transfer 1

This follows the limitations of a Yellow Transformation Trinket showing a character to Lavaling transfer, with the ferroii Magnificent Mane, Back Mane, Bunbun Nose, Fangs, and Finger Hooves.

Transfer 2

This follows the limitations of a Blue Transformation Trinket showing a character to Lavaling transfer, with the ferroii Head Fluff, Ear Fluff, Body Fluff, Limb Fluff, Cloven Hooves, Brow Changer, Fawn Spots, Colored Sclera, Colored Pupil, Slit Pupil, Slit Nose, Slicker’s Tail, Head Changer, and Horn Removal.

Transfer 3

This follows the limitations of a Grey Transformation Trinket showing an Astrolyte to Subspecies transfer, with no ferroii present.

All art & characters featured belong to wheat. These designs are not random / open to being replicated as some other example designs are.

Transfer Form

Now that you’ve gotten everything ready for your transfer, put this form in the description of your transfer image & post in the Transfer Approvals forum!

Name:

Species:

Faction:

Lavaling / Astrolyte:

Stance: [if applicable]

Ferroii:

Trinket Type: [state type + provide proof]

Age: [state age + provide proof]

Art: [link correct amount of images]

Reasoning: [explain why you added / altered ferroii]

Approval

The final step is to get your transfer approved!

Upload them to Toyhou.se and create a forum post with the proper description filled in to give them an official date of creation! Once a forum post has been made, they can be submitted to the Astrolytes World and become an official lyte!

Since we are an open species, you do not need to wait for a mod to approve your lyte for them to be accepted into the world! Be sure to update your tracker with each new approval, as keeping track of your current lytes will rely on you!

If you need any additional help on the forums [how to code something in, image breaking, etc.], feel free to contact an admin or helper - we'll be happy to help!

Please read over our Toyhouse Tips page if you are having any trouble creating a tracker or thread!

Some basics are covered there to help you get started, but again, we are always happy to help if you are still confused on anything!
