Ferroii

A ferrosome is any trait beyond the standard appearance of Astrolytes!

Astrolytes possess a unique ability to rapidly develop new features called ferroii! As you continue to participate in the community and draw / write about your Astrolyte, you can unlock & earn different ferroii to evolve their appearance. Since Lavalings start out as very plain, they can be customized a variety of ways using these traits!

All ferroii have specific requirements that must be met before they are applied! Many of them need a certain amount of currency, but they might also ask for specialized art or writing tasks to be completed.

Occasionally, there will even be limited edition ferroii that expire after a set period of time, so be sure to watch out for them!

Please link any requirements when applying a new ferrosome!

For age requirements: link the lyte's approval image!
For art requirements: link the image where the art requirement/s were drawn!
For currency requirements: make sure your currency counts are at the bottom of your description!
For ferroii obtained from an event reward: link where the ferrosome was earned!
For ferroii obtained with an item: mention that an item is being used & notify the world!

Q: Can I remove a ferrosome or change how it looks on my lyte after I've applied it?

Absolutely!

There is only one requirement for removing existing ferroii: Have 3 images of your lyte with the current ferrosome!

You can always apply it again afterwards as well!

Reapplying is for when the appearance of a ferrosome is drastically changed, such as redoing the placement of scales or changing how stripes look on your lyte! Small changes such as altering the style of fur or changing the tail length of a lyte with Slicker's Tail do not need to fulfill this requirement. To reapply a ferrosome:

Have 5 images of your lyte with the current appearance!

Q: Can I complete art requirements for ferroii my lyte can't currently obtain?

Of course!

Art requirements can be drawn at any time! For example, you do not need to wait until your Lavaling is grown up to fulfill requirements for adult Astrolyte ferroii, or wait for an event to begin to work on Event ferroii requirements. As long as the ferrosome is only applied once all requirements are met, it works just fine!

Q: Is there any way to bypass ferrosome requirements?

Pure Water Vials are a type of item that can be used to skip over certain requirements for a ferrosome! You can read more about it and its limitations on the Items page!
