Currency Counting

Proto Wave

There are 4 currencies available to be earned in Astrolytes!

These currencies are Halogens, Droplux, Evertokens, and Amber Leaves! They are earned primarily through drawing your 'lytes, but some require certain circumstances or can only be won from events!

Every currency count is attached to you, the user!
This means you can use it across all of your lytes.

Halogen

Halogen
Halogen

A small, six-sided coin whose center appears to change color every time it is flipped. It is the most commonly used currency among the islands.

Halogens are the main type of tally system within the group! These can be obtained when drawing your own / other users' Astrolytes, or as prizes in events and contests. They are a major component of earning ferroii, and can also be used at stores!

They are counted by you, and rely on an honor system method that you are responsible for!

Halogens

Halogens do not deplete when applying ferroii!

You must count your Halogens earned on every post you submit to the world!

A quick and easy way to do so is to format it like this:

Halogen

Bust x1 + Gift x1 = 2/4

The 2 represents the Halogens earned by that specific image, and the 4 represents your newest Halogen total!

Be sure to include how you arrived to your count by specifying each part of the drawing, like the Bust x1 + Gift x1 in the example above! You can format this in any way.

All currencies are counted using the Earned/Total format!

Counting Halogens

● Bust (Pink) = +1 Halogen
● Fullbody (Blue) = +3 Halogens

Sizing Guide

● Story = +1 Halogen per 100 words
Roleplays will not earn story Halogens, but will earn Droplux!
● Gift = +1 Halogen
If you drew another user’s Astrolyte — 1 Halogen per character! NPCs do count for this.

Story and Gift

● Simple Background = +1 Halogen
This includes simple pattern backgrounds or settings composed of props / minimal detail.
● Complex Background = +4 Halogens
Must be decently detailed, with a foreground / background.

● Simple Shading = +1 Halogen
Basic shading or shading that is not very clean or polished.
● Complex Shading = +2 Halogens
Clean, detailed shading with multiple layers to show depth.
Shading counts for each separate scene.

● Animation Bonus = +3 Halogens
An animation bonus applies in the case of simple animations where the majority of the image stays static [such as blinking, tail wagging, small bounces, etc.].

● Full Animation = +1 Halogen per unique frame
Full animation applies when the majority of the body is animated to convey a more dynamic motion. A unique frame is simply one in which most of the frame has been redrawn from the last.

Simple Animation

As you can see, it’s pretty easy to accumulate Halogens — Don't be discouraged by ferroii that need a high amount of them!

Other

● At a minimum, images must be colored to earn currency!

● Using the same base / slightly altering the same pose on the same image doesn't count for extra currency!
● Commissions and other paid artwork do not earn currency!
● Species that don’t specifically come from Astrolytes do not earn currency!
● If the image is a collab, both users can earn the same amount from it!

Official companions may earn currency using the same amounts an Astrolyte would earn!

Droplux

Droplux
Droplux

A translucent, glittery jewel that is shaped just like a raindrop. It shines in the light and is extremely smooth to the touch.

Droplux_edited.png

Droplux are a special type of currency within the group! These can only be earned when your Astrolyte interacts with another user's Astrolyte. They can be used to earn more exclusive ferroii!

They are counted by you, and rely on an honor system method that you are responsible for, just like Halogens!

Droplux deplete when applying ferroii!

Whenever you obtain a ferrosome that requires Droplux, it will have to be subtracted from your count! This can be formatted in the same way you would add currency, only negative.

All lytes featured in the interaction earn Droplux!

Counting Droplux

● Fullbody = +2 Droplux

● Animation Bonus = +1 Droplux
● Full Animation = +1 Droplux per unique frame

● Story = +1 Droplux per 100 words

● Complex Background = +2 Droplux

● Complex Shading = +1 Droplux

● Collab = +3 Droplux

Both artists must have put an equal amount of effort into the piece! Both users earn +3 Droplux no matter who posts the collab! It is up to both users to update their trackers. You must tag the other user who you collabed with!

● Roleplay = +3 Droplux

Both artists must have put an equal amount of effort into the roleplay! Both users earn +3 Droplux no matter who posts the roleplay! It is up to both users to update their trackers. You must tag the other user who you collabed with!
The roleplay must be at least 400 words total!

Evertokens

Evertoken
Evertoken

A round, golden coin that, if left alone for a long period of time, will appear to spin in a hypnotic fashion.

Evertokens are a special type of currency that can only be earned by completing Event Prompts! They can be used to obtain Event ferroii after the event has ended. You will still need to follow any present requirements, including if the ferrosome is allowed on Lavalings or not!

They are counted by you, and rely on an honor system method that you are responsible for, just like Halogens!

Amber Leaves

Amber Leaf
Amber Leaf

Thin, leaf-shaped cutouts made of amber. They are smooth to the touch and flexible, though impossible to break. They are considered very valuable in most areas.

Amber%20Leaves_edited.png

Amber Leaves are a unique type of currency that can be earned by reaching Halogen milestones! You can use this currency to buy shop items and occasionally to purchase adoptables / Rehomed Lavalings. These can also be transferred between user to user!

They are counted by you, and rely on an honor system method that you are responsible for, just like Halogens!

Amber Leaves deplete when purchasing items!

Whenever you purchase an item using Amber Leaves, it will have to be subtracted from your count! This can be formatted in the same way you would add currency, only negative.

Counting Amber Leaves

● Per 100 Halogens = +1 Amber Leaf

Halogen milestones are at 100, 200, 300, etc! You would automatically earn 1 Amber Leaf each time one of these is hit.

If your Halogen count drops more than 50 Halogens below a milestone, reaching that same milestone again will reward you with another Amber Leaf. However, if it drops less than 50 below, you will need to continue to the next milestone as normal in order to earn another Amber Leaf.
