Glittergons are the rarest mount among the islands, hardly ever being found in large groups or even in captivity! It is considered extremely lucky to have tamed one of these mounts, and it often reflects extremely well on the owner as glittergons tend to only associate with good-hearted Astrolytes.

Looks & Anatomy

Despite having magical connection, these elements don’t tend to affect their colors too much. They generally come with soft, pastel coats, save for their front legs and tail tips. Glitters also typically have more smooth or flowing markings, rarely being seen with sharp patterns such as stripes or triangles.

Glittergons are large, elegant creatures who hold strong magical capabilities connected to the Growth, Sky, Mind, & Strike elements, with a focus on Mind. They are almost completely covered in velvety fur, especially concentrated around their neck. They have large, fluffy ears, no nose, and three eyes positioned onto their round head. Feathery extensions sprout from the corners of their eyes, and only the middle of the three actually opens.

Two large hand-like “wings” sprout from their back, able to hold and grab objects but not really fly. A small pair of clawed arms can be found right above their front legs, which are made out of a near-invincible shell-like substance. Their back legs simply end in small stubs, and their long body extends into a sleek, prehensile tail.

Behavior & Diet

Glittergons in general are quite aloof, preferring to mind their own business and stay out of other creature’s ways. They can’t be tamed in the usual sense — if one of them decides to accompany an Astrolyte, it’d be on it’s own terms. They will only follow ‘lytes they find to have good intentions, and will not hesitate to leave if that person begins to do wrong. 

While in a “tamed” state, they often act gentle towards their current owner and do their best to keep them healthy and happy. Glitters tend to have symbiotic relationships with other species — if the other takes care of them and doesn’t do anything rotten, they will return the favor with good luck. 

Their inherent magical abilities often take place automatically with their presence. Plants flourish under their step, they are capable of flight, and the air crackles warmly around them. Glitters possess the ability to sense the intentions and mental state of other creatures, and will use this to either support or avoid them depending on what they see. They are also able to alter emotions to certain degree, using this power to keep their allies healthy.

Being extremely intelligent, they are able to easily communicate with other glittergons [and sometimes other species] with chirps and whirring sounds. They will directly respond to Astrolytes talking to them with their own noises, often taking the lead to express themselves with physical gestures if their whirrs are not enough.

Glittergons don't eat, instead thriving off positive thoughts and feelings of others around them. If surrounded by negative attitudes for too long, it can actually start to harm and weaken the Glitter, so they usually use their abilities to keep their surroundings in a good state.

Reproduction & Offspring

Glittergons have the unusual capability of reproducing asexually, not particularly needing any sort of partner to have children [though it isn’t out of the ordinary for them to form relationships with other glittergons for the companionship]. They instead are able to cry a glitter-like substance that, when collected, can be used to summon a new glittergon. It works similar to cloning, and different glitters would have to be mixed to summon a mount that isn't virtually identical to its “parent.”

Due to this unique process, there isn’t really a child version of the species — they are created as adults and stay that way, though they do act a bit inexperienced when first summoned as they begin to adjust to life.
