MYO Guide

Remember, the 1 free Subspecies MYO slot only accounts for Basic Subspecies!

These can only be obtained through rarer circumstances, so be sure to check out the other Secondary Subspecies first before making your decision!

Understanding this guide requires knowledge of the Standard MYO Guide. Please read over that one first before continuing!

[Standard Guide]

[Myth Guide] [Bone Guide] [Plush Guide]

At a first glance, it's impossible to tell Zaplytes live in Aitsua. Their pointed limbs, spikes, and antennae don't come across as features that would be particularly useful in the sparse grasslands or deserts in which Zaplytes reside. Even so, these features do have important purposes. Their thin, hoofless limbs make Zaplytes quick on their feet, and their light frame gives them surprising agility. Their back spikes serve as lightning rods, protecting them during electrical storms, and the pouches on their cheeks stores any absorbed electricity. If these pouches ever begin to overflow, any excess is dispelled naturally through their antennae. Their affinity for electricity gives them a clear advantage with Strike magic, and they are able to learn it quite easily.

Anatomy

Zapling Anatomy

Zaplings are a Secondary Subspecies, and are small & thin, well known for their pointed features. Instead of natural hooves, their limbs end in sharp points. 3 long spikes extend from their back, and two antennae with circular points sprout from behind their horns. Two energy pouches can be found on their cheeks, about the same size as the common lavalamp placement. Even their more average features appear sharper, generally being born with thinner tails and more pointed snouts.

Lavalamp Placements, Colors & Markings, Lavalamp Colors

All of these function as normal for MYO Zaplings, except:

Cheek & Hoof Placements are not allowed on Zaplings!

Forehead & Back Placements are acceptable, but they do not turn the antennae or back spikes into lavalamps!
Arm Placements function as normal despite the lack of hooves!

Anything Else

Everything listed here previously on the Standard MYO Guide function as normal! There is an extra Zap-specific item to mention, though.

Energy Pockets: This can be any base, secondary, or lava color already on your Zapling!

Back Spikes: This can be any natural metal color!

Here’s a good example of what a MYO Zapling could look like!

Zapling Example

Template & Description

Now that your lyte has been fully designed, just throw them onto a template with the proper description, and they’ll be almost to approval!
Click below to find Click below to find a PSD of the template, or click here for a PNG version!

Zap Template

Now all you have to do is fill out the description for your lyte!
It’s the exact same info that is listed on the Standard MYO Guide, but under Species be sure to put Zapling!

Approval

The final step is to get your Zapling approved!
Upload them to Toyhou.se and create a forum post with the proper description filled in to give them an official date of creation! Once a forum post has been made, they can be submitted to the Astrolytes World and become an official lyte!

Since we are an open species, you do not need to wait for a mod to approve your lyte for them to be accepted into the world! Be sure to update your tracker with each new approval, as keeping track of your current lytes will rely on you!

If you need any additional help on the forums [how to code something in, image breaking, etc.], feel free to contact an admin or helper - we'll be happy to help!

If you would like to check in anyway, feel free to jump into our Discord! We have a specific channel called The Bakery that’s designed to help out with approvals!
