MYO Guide

Remember, the 1 free Subspecies MYO slot only accounts for Basic Subspecies!

These can only be obtained through rarer circumstances, so be sure to check out the other Secondary Subspecies first before making your decision!

Understanding this guide requires knowledge of the Standard MYO Guide. Please read over that one first before continuing!

[Standard Guide]

[Myth Guide] [Zap Guide] [Plush Guide]

Much like many of the other Secondary Subspecies, Bonelytes appear as quite an oddity at first glance. Nobody really knows what caused them to evolve towards an exposed skull and other various exposed bones, but most Unkirians seem to respect and associate them with spirits and the dead due to their appearance and are extra protective over them for this. Despite their frail frame, Bones seem to do well in the high altitudes Unkiri brings, with the stronger winds seeming to pass right through them. They also seem to be fairly resistant to injury and don’t bruise or scratch easily. To match their connection to death, they are especially proficient in Decay magic, learning it very easily.

Anatomy

boneling anatomy

Bonelings are a Secondary Subspecies, and are most distinguishable for their entirely exposed skull. Their tail is completely made of bone, as well as a slightly exposed spine and an extra bone behind each hoof. Their eyes are completely black save for a white iris. Bones are most often seen with skinny builds, drooping ears, and leaning postures, tending to stumble and drag their hooves instead of walking upright.

Lavalamp Placements, Colors & Markings, Lavalamp Colors

All of these function as normal for MYO Bonelings, except:

Tail Placements are not allowed on Bonelings!

Cheek & Forehead Placements mostly act as normal when interacting with the skull, though Cheek Placements must now be kept on the upper part of the jaw / skull [in between the eye & line separating the lower jaw].
Back & Limb Placements are acceptable, but they do not turn the exposed bones into lavalamps!

Anything Else

Everything listed here previously on the Standard MYO Guide function as normal! There are a couple extra Bone-specific items to mention, though.

Exposed Bones: These must be a natural, desaturated bone color, and should follow the general anatomy shown in the example!

Eyes: Much like Sunlytes, they should have a solid black socket with a small, white iris. A bit of definition to show a more 3D shape may be added if desired.

Here’s a good example of what a MYO Boneling could look like!

Template & Description

Now that your lyte has been fully designed, just throw them onto a template with the proper description, and they’ll be almost to approval!
Click below to find Click below to find a PSD of the template, or click here for a PNG version!

Bone Template

Now all you have to do is fill out the description for your lyte!
It’s the exact same info that is listed on the Standard MYO Guide, but under Species be sure to put Boneling!

Approval

The final step is to get your Boneling approved!
Upload them to Toyhou.se and create a forum post with the proper description filled in to give them an official date of creation! Once a forum post has been made, they can be submitted to the Astrolytes World and become an official lyte!

Since we are an open species, you do not need to wait for a mod to approve your lyte for them to be accepted into the world! Be sure to update your tracker with each new approval, as keeping track of your current lytes will rely on you!

If you need any additional help on the forums [how to code something in, image breaking, etc.], feel free to contact an admin or helper - we'll be happy to help!
