MYO Guide

Remember, the 1 free Subspecies MYO slot only accounts for Basic Subspecies!

These can only be obtained through rarer circumstances, so be sure to check out the other Secondary Subspecies first before making your decision!

Understanding this guide requires knowledge of the Standard MYO Guide. Please read over that one first before continuing!

Mythlytes came along a lot later in the evolutionary chain, but are surprisingly even more mysterious than those that came before. It is rumored that they came about in a magic hotspot on Florya, resulting in many odd mutations. This subspecies seems to have an abnormally strong connection to the mind, and have a heightened sense of all things mental even with no magic training. Their particle-like irises function vaguely like a fly’s eye, picking up multiple viewpoints that help them better read other lytes. Unsurprisingly, their eyesight is much worse when it comes to trying to see small text and symbols, but allows for them to swiftly take in body language and other physical signs. Their extra set of arms are also a bit of an odd addition, but many find them useful for help with carrying farming and building materials. The extra grip also assists in climbing trees. The mist around their eyes and tail is one of the most confusing features of Mythlytes, but the most accurate name lytes have given to it is some sort of “thought energy.” Myth’s connection to the mind seems to manifest itself physically, and the mist can be seen growing and shrinking in correlation with the owner’s thoughts. It’s clear to see that they have a natural affinity for Mind magic and can learn it very easily.

Anatomy

Mythling Anatomy

Mythlings are a Secondary Subspecies, and come as a slightly larger & mysterious variant to the Standard Lavaling. Similar to most other Subspecies, they have basic features such as a sloped face and small horns, but clearly have their own unique traits. They have a small pair of extra arms placed right above the regular ones, and their irises fade off into particles unlike the usual solid circle. Their most noticeable feature would most likely be the floating mist acts as their tail and trails after their eyes, occasionally giving off a faint glow.

Lavalamp Placements, Colors & Markings, Lavalamp Colors

All of these function as normal for MYO Mythlings, except:

Tail Placements are not allowed on Mythlings!

Hoof Placements affect all 6 hooves!
Arm Placements function as normal for their extra arms! Any placement placed on the extra arms still count separately towards the limit of 3.

Anything Else

Everything listed here previously on the Standard MYO Guide function as normal! There is an extra Myth-specific item to mention, though.

Floating Mist: The mist must be the lavalamp colors of your lyte! You can choose which colors you want for the inner & outer sections, but they must be from the lavalamps. If you ever change their lavalamp colors through any means, then the mist will change with them!

Here’s a good example of what a MYO Mythling could look like!

Template & Description

Now that your lyte has been fully designed, just throw them onto a template with the proper description, and they’ll be almost to approval!
Click below to find Click below to find a PSD of the template, or click here for a PNG version!

Myth Template

Now all you have to do is fill out the description for your lyte!
It’s the exact same info that is listed on the Standard MYO Guide, but under Species be sure to put Mythling!

Approval

The final step is to get your Mythling approved!
Upload them to Toyhou.se and create a forum post with the proper description filled in to give them an official date of creation! Once a forum post has been made, they can be submitted to the Astrolytes World and become an official lyte!

Since we are an open species, you do not need to wait for a mod to approve your lyte for them to be accepted into the world! Be sure to update your tracker with each new approval, as keeping track of your current lytes will rely on you!

If you need any additional help on the forums [how to code something in, image breaking, etc.], feel free to contact an admin or helper - we'll be happy to help!
